ABOUT the team
Traceside neighborhood is nestled between Hwy 100 and Sneed Road in Bellevue and has over 400 homes. One of the biggest draws of our neighborhood, especially for families with school-age children is the fabulous community pool and our summer swim team, the Traceside Barracudas! The Barracudas were established in 2006 and have provided an amazing opportunity for children to learn top-notch swim skills in an extremely fun, supportive, and relaxed environment. Each season, we have over 60 swimmers competing and have the opportunity to host swim meets that bring hundreds of swimmers, spectators, and volunteers from surrounding Nashville communities!
We are proud to have plentiful accolades to speak of, from many seasons of holding the #1 championship position for our division, to having swimmers on the team placing in the top 5 overall positions for City Meet (we had FOUR swimmers achieve this during the 2023 season!), as well as our very own Barracuda swimmer, Libby Helmer, now holding the city record for 13-14 girls 50 Freestyle! This 2024 season, we’re excited to have two of our very own Barracudas Co-Coaching our swimmers after having both served as assistant coaches under the leadership of Head Coach, Joe Helmer, for the past 3 years. Margaret Gilles is a rising junior at University of Dayton, and Emaline Lenger is a rising Sophomore at The Belonging Co College. We’re looking forward to a successful and fun 2024 season!
